Sports Premium

Each year the school receives funding dedicated to developing sport in school. As a school we have had the freedom to choose the best way spend this money.

In previous years we have used the money to:

• Train and develop our existing staff by employing specialist sports coaches to teach alongside our teaching staff
• Hire qualified sports coaches to develop niche sports.
• Purchase sports equipment for PE lessons and train lunchtime staff in delivering sports at lunchtimes.
• Develop competitive sports in school through afterschool clubs, specialist coaching in school and engaging with our local sports partnership.

This has led to an increase in the uptake of pupils taking part in sport and our staff have increased confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and Sport. Also, the school now takes part in many competitive competitions in a broad range of sports.
